Our History

Dickson & McNulty was established on the 17th December 1952 when Peter William Dickson and John Baird McNulty entered into partnership with a shared ideal to provide the city and the North West in general with a new type of legal experience. They were later joined by Bristow Stevenson and William Long as Partners.

William Long’s son Peter joined in 1977 and became a Partner in 1981, ably assisted by Liam Campbell who specialised in Republic of Ireland work..

Robert Samuel Lyttle joined the practice in 1993 having worked in private Practice in Coleraine and Limavady, becoming a partner in 1996.

The practice is now proudly run by Robert’s son Andrew and William McCleery, who have retained the core ethos of the original partners whilst also driving the practice forward as one of Derry / Londonderry’s most popular choices for legal advice.

In 2023, Dickson & McNulty Solicitors expanded to a second branch at 19 Main Street in Limavady. Due to continued growth, two new solicitors also joined the firm; Gloria McCullough LL.B and Chloe Cairns LL.B.
